This is a sublime recording of the violin concertos and a few other famous pieces by Bach. There are many recordings of these concertos out there and I bought this one partly because it was reasonably priced, but was not disappointed with the quality. I was very impressed with the tone, balance and pacing of these pieces. I don't know where it was recorded, but if you close your eyes you can imagine that it's a live performance and you have the best seat in the concert hall!Anne Akiko Meyers plays this music not just with technical brilliance but with feeling and passion. She is clearly the star on this recording, but is also superbly supported by the English Chamber Orchestra. While you can probably find all these pieces on a cheap Bach compilation, it's worth paying a few extra dollars to get a high quality recording from such a talented soloist, and savor every track.
